Our leadership

Tim D’Souza,

"My childhood dream was to work at a job that really helped people."

Three words that best describe him

hardworking, caring, inquisitive

Tim brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic management, finance and consulting in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. His career began with the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association where he helped the organization develop and implement its first strategic plan. He has since worked in leadership roles at USC Canada, IBM and Pet Valu.

At Children Believe, Tim oversees finance, IT, internal audit, risk, procurement and facilities. Skilled and knowledgeable people work with him to ensure the success of these functions.

What academic work set him up for success?

Tim holds a masters of business administration in finance and strategy from Yale university in the U.S.; a master of arts in international development and political science from the University of Guelph in Ontario; and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Toronto.

In his spare time, he works as a part-time faculty instructor at various colleges and universities in Canada. He has also volunteered on multiple Boards, many supporting charities devoted to helping disadvantaged children and youth.

Interesting tidbit

Tim loves spending time with his family — his wife Jennifer and three girls, Lexi, Lauren and Madeleine. They share their house with a 110-pound Golden Doodle named Ollie.
