How financing gaps are impacting children’s education around the world
More governmental funding is needed to help children access quality education so they can reach their dreams
Many people value quality education. Yet a recent report by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) shows governments around the world need to invest more to ensure every child has a chance to learn, realize their rights and reach their dreams.
Although some children are in school, it’s still difficult for then to grasp the basic reading and math skills, reports UNICEF. “We are failing children. Too many education systems around the world are investing the least in those children who need it the most,” explained Catherine Russell, executive director at UNICEF in a statement.

For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
