What’s her role and connection to the cause?
Elaine Wong serves as Director, Supporter Operations & Engagement at Children Believe, where she leads the Supporter Operations & Engagement team and oversees supporter experience, retention, and engagement strategies that strengthen relationships and drive sustainable revenue growth. She brings over a decade of progressive experience in customer experience, direct marketing, and supporter stewardship within the nonprofit sector.
Elaine joins Children Believe from the Canadian Red Cross, where she spent nearly six years in increasingly senior roles. Most recently, as Associate Director, Retention & Customer Experience, she led strategies to deepen supporter relationships through data-driven insights and integrated engagement approaches. Previously, as Senior Manager, Monthly Giving, she played a key role in strengthening long-term supporter value and loyalty.
Earlier in her career, Elaine held development and community engagement roles with Action Against Hunger Canada, Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter, and the Alzheimer Society of Canada, building a strong foundation in individual giving and supporter engagement.
Elaine is an outcome-oriented and thoughtful process thinker, known for aligning supporter needs with organizational goals to create authentic, meaningful connections. She is deeply committed to building strong relationships, nurturing collaboration, and supporting impact-driven organizations as they grow their reach and influence.
What academic work set her up for success?
Elaine holds a Master of Public Administration in Management from Dalhousie University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management from the University of Toronto.
