In the morning, I will go to the farm, and fetch some firewood, and fetch water for my mother, sweep the compound for my parents, and do almost all the household chores. I actually find things very difficult because parents were not allowed-- children, like girls, were not being allowed to go to school. I couldn't speak English. I didn't even know English language exist. I was thinking, if I married and I'm not doing anything, life will not be easy.

When Children Believe came into our school to select us, I was very happy and impressed because they will take care of me through my education.

I started my own business at 2016. I'm now a seamstress, and I'm having my own shops now. Customers who are coming to shop from me, and then if I sew for them, I will charge them, and then they will pay me. I want to build a big fashion industry, whereby I will employ people and teach them how to sew.

So I do appreciate and thank Children Believe for coming into my life. Knowing that someone cares for me in Canada, I feel very impressive. And then I feel very happy for myself. It's a big joy.

My sponsorship started when I was young to my junior high school, senior high school level, around 14 years old. When you had your menses, you get sanitary pads, school books. Sometimes your fees, they pay and then a lot. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for me. Had it not because of them, I wouldn't have been who I am today. And I want to say a very big thank you for the sponsorship.

I am now a lab scientist at the Tamale West Hospital that is under Ghana Health Service. As I'm talking to you now, I'm back to school again to do my degree top up. Again, now I'm in the field, and I'm taking small from the government, so I'm able to support myself with the fees. So I'm currently in school, Tamale Technical University, doing my degree top up for two years.
