My name is Issouf. I am 17 years old, in grade 3. Growing up, I helped with housework and studied for school. One terrible day, armed men came to my village firing weapons. There were bursts of gunfire and cries everywhere. We ran as fast as we could, not looking back. I remember sobbing. It was very hard to leave my friends, my home and school. My dream was to return to school. In this massacre, I lost my best friend and classmate, Pamoussa. My dream was to become a Life and Earth Sciences teacher. In the new village, there was no school, and despair took hold. I told myself my dream would no longer be possible.
