Meet Mahelet, a bright 9-year-old girl from Ethiopia. She celebrates her birthday on November 1st. Mahelet is currently attending elementary school and walks there each day, eager to learn and grow. She has a passion for reading books, which opens up new worlds and ideas for her. Mahelet lives with her mother, who works as a casual labourer to support their family. Despite the challenges, Mahelet remains enthusiastic about her education and dreams of a brighter future.
