This Human Rights Day we celebrate youth making a difference

Young people are standing up and using their voice for good

It’s been the year of youth who have been campaigning for the environment, for women and for their safety, among other issues. It’s why, on this Human Rights Day, the world is celebrating them.

“Globally, young people are marching, organizing and speaking out,” says António Guterres, United Nations’ secretary-general. “I call on everyone to support and protect young people who are standing up for human rights.

Human Rights Day commemorates the 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It reminds us we’re all entitled to civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.

At Children Believe, we mark the value of the day daily, thanks to supporters who make it possible for children to access their basic needs and an education so they can thrive as adults. We’re committed to ensuring children and youth know their rights and are given the skills to speak up and create their own positive change.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
