It isn’t just females who need to stand against child marriage

Watch this video to find out how men should be engaged in the conversation

Boys and men need to stand up against child marriage, not just girls and women, and that’s what we see in this inspiring UNICEF video.

“How old is she?,” the groom asks about his expectant bride in the video below. After hearing she’s younger than 18, he continues: “Men do not marry a child.”

At Christian Children’s Fund of Canada, we engage entire communities in discussions about the dangers of child marriage and actions everyone can take to stop this harmful practice. A big part of solving the problem is making sure men understand and believe in ending child marriage, too.

Watch the video below to see how this video may help educate both genders.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
