Gifts from donor make difference in life of boy and his family

Many of our donors support their sponsored children more than once a month — some send special gifts for birthdays, Easter and Christmas. Haruna has been excited to receive many gifts like this in Ghana during the past four years.

Thanks to this extra help, the 15-year-old and his family have had the means to buy four cows, two sheep and two goats to raise as well as six bags of shea nuts for his mother’s shea-butter business. “We also bought a bicycle that is helping me go to school and run chores at home after school,” explains the sponsored child.

Haruna and his family don’t take these valuable gifts for granted. “My family and I are very grateful to you for the support you have given us all these years,” he told his sponsor, who was happy to share the message but wishes to remain anonymous. “We are so grateful to you and pray God [will bless] you.”
