⌛Where Are They Now: Nahin’s journey from sponsored child to communicator and writer

For me and my family it meant a lot to have a sponsor in Canada. Because of this support I was able to continue my school classes and it had a positive impact on my family’s financial security.

The Children Believe program has also been important for my community because it has allowed children to develop their skills and convince adults to listen to what young people have to say, that children have a lot to teach and share. This allows us to work together to create safe spaces for children to play, learn and grow.

Choosing to raise his voice

I wanted to study communications because I had developed a passion for serving others through my involvement in different activities like children’s festivals and awareness campaigns in my community.

Thanks to a scholarship, my mother didn’t have to pay for my professional training in communication. She could then afford to pay for much needed household expenses for my two younger sisters and me.

I am absolutely sure that Children Believe’s programs shaped my life, because now I am a young professional who wants to achieve many goals and continue to work for my community. If not for sponsorship, I think my story would be different. I might not have been able to finish my degree.
