Catching up on progress of global conference to protect children

Global communities work towards eradicating child labour

BUENOS AIRES — It’s our goal at Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC) to keep children safe from harm. That’s also the mission of this week’s IV Global Conference on the Sustained Eradication of Child Labour organized by the Government of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

The global community is seeking to eliminate child labour by 2025 and forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking by 2030. The conference is set to move that agenda forward by addressing youth employment.

At CCFC, we believe in giving children a voice to change their future for the better, having recently hosted a former sponsored at a World Health Organization child violence-prevention meeting in Ottawa.

The conference runs until Thursday, Nov. 16

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
