Making 10X the difference this #GivingTuesday

How we’re helping vulnerable young women find lasting employment

This #GivingTuesday, as the world unites to give back, we’re raising funds to support young women who need to find employment they can count on, and thanks to our giving partners all gifts will be multiplied 10X. The International Labour Organization reports females make up just 39 percent of the workforce in Latin America and the Caribbean. And, at Children Believe, we’ve see how finding full-time, permanent jobs is challenging, even before the COVID-19 pandemic made it more difficult. Consider Tatiana’s story. The 25-year-old (above) graduated as a professional nurse and dreams of working in a hospital emergency room, but it’s been difficult. In fact, she’s already lost out on a job to a man. This can happen when employers fear woman will get pregnant and need time off. We’re committed to giving women independence, confidence and know-how to escape poverty and find a future filled with hope by supporting:

  • vocational, life and professional skills-training
  • goal-setting to find rewarding careers
  • networks to overcome gender barriers

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
