A history lesson: what has been accomplished for gender equality?

As we continue to work to ensure girls access their basic rights, we realize there’s lots to do, but there’s also much to celebrate. The UN Women’s YouTube video helps show that, as it gives the history of the fight for gender equality.

“Women and men must mobilize together to overcome the remaining obstacles to gender equality,” notes the video’s narrator. Those obstacles include gender-based violence, access to healthcare, equal pay and equal participation in political decisions.
