Why is play important for children as they grow?

Watch this video showing how play helps positively shape a child’s future

We all know kids love to play, but many may not realize how important it is for developing motor and cognitive skills. Watch this video from Colorado’s Playtime, which explains the benefits of play and why it is so important.

“The importance of play cannot be overlooked…. Play serves an important role in early childhood development with five important benefits,” notes the video’s narrator. They include, physical, emotional, social, cognitive and behavioural.

At Children Believe, we encourage play inside and outside the classroom. One of our projects, Learning Through Play, is now in our Burkina Faso program where it’s set to reach 4,500 children, helping improve quality early-childhood development services.

Give a child the opportunity to play and learn today.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.

About Childfund Alliance

A member of ChildFund Alliance, Children Believe is part of a global network of child-focused development organizations working to create opportunities for children and youth, their families and communities.
