Mobile-inspired tools can yield success for farmers

Innovation can go a long way to making change for many people around the world

Sharing data online could be a welcome support for farmers around the world who are increasingly using smartphones, Michael Kremer, co-winner of the 2019 Nobel in economic sciences told Reuters.

We’ve been hearing more and about specialized apps designed to help farmers, and the tools are a great way to share information, returning customized advice to improve yields, notes Kremer.

“Real gains from this will come from customization,” he added. “If you can customize information so farmers are getting information on the weather for their particular local area, for the crops they grow, if there’s an outbreak of a pest … you can start to see some of the potential.”

At Children Believe, we help equip farmers with the right tools. We work to ensure they’re prepared to overcome challenges so their families thrive, their children can get an education, and the entire family can improve the community.

You can support farmers through our gift catalogue today. Provide seeds, tools and training to ensure success.
